An ode to Hank Williams (1923-1953), country music’s first world star. ‘Hillbilly Shakespeare’ was his nickname, because of his poetical lyrics. Williams was even posthumously awarded the Pulitzer Prize.
When it comes down to his music, you have never heard anything as authentic as these guys! All songs, such as Jambalaya, I Saw The Light and Your Cheatin' Heart, are played in the original string band line-up, including steel guitar and fiddle. Three of them are also active in rock'n'roll band The Wieners, although they play other instruments.
In addition to the well-known tearjerkers and honky tonk classics, Hank Williams has also released great gospels, as well as pumpin’ hillbilly / rockabilly tunes and subtle western swing. Hillbilly Shakespeare plays it all and tells Hank's life story along the way. A must for all roots lovers!

Hits als Jambalaya, I Saw The Light en Your Cheatin' Heart worden gespeeld in de originele stringband line-up, met oa steelguitar en fiddle.
